San Diego Circus Center is devoted to advancing circus training in North America and enriching the lives of our community by teaching circus disciplines, art and culture.

We offer contemporary and traditional circus training and performance opportunities for our youth and adults in a safe, noncompetitive, socially enriching and nurturing environment.

With our curriculum, we encourage and build on each individual’s strengths and abilities to create a strong, unique foundation for excellence. Our focus is on higher education and professionally aimed classes and programs, and we also are a strong advocate of recreational studies. We train hard and perform regularly throughout the year. Preparatory Program 2024/25

Preparatory Program

For students ages 17 – 24 working towards a career - (https://www.sandiegocircuscenter.org/programs/preparatory) The Preparatory Program’s focus is split into five pillars of circus: Aerial, Ground, Rebound, Clowning and Dance/Movement, which are all essential to being a well rounded performer. All students will participate in core classes as a group as well as specialty and master classes per their specific goals. Our Preparatory Program not only creates space for strategic development, but also emphasizes circus as a means of communication, empowerment, and a way to gain some color. We’ve built our Preparatory Program as a stepping stone to develop a solid base from which our students can advance in order to reach goals that include auditioning for continued higher education in schools such as ENC, ESAC, CNAC, ECQ, and CODARTS. ProTrack Training Program 2024/25

Intensive Courses

Professional "ProTrack" Training Program (https://www.sandiegocircuscenter.org/programs/protrack) Training Period : 2 Year Program that runs from Sept to May San Diego Circus Center offers a PROFESSIONAL "ProTrack" PROGRAM for athletes ages 18 to 28. The Professional Program is a 2 year program during the standard academic school year and we will be accepting 6 athletes into the program. This program is designed to develop a solid base from which the athlete can advance in order to reach goals that are not limited to, but include, professional contracts, festival participation, auditions, and building the athlete’s strength and technique to become a professional performer who is valued by the circus industry. The Pro Track Program’s focus is split into five pillars of circus: Aerial, Ground, Rebound, Clowning and Dance/Movement, which are all essential to being a well rounded performer. All students will participate in core group classes as well as specialty and master classes per their specific goals.

Master Youth Intensive (SUMMER 2022)

Summer Programs

Master Youth Intensive (https://sandiegocircuscenter.org/master-youth-intensive/) Training Period : July 8th - August 10th, 2024, 6 days a week Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 10am-3pm San Diego Circus Center offers a MASTER INTENSIVE PROGRAM for students ages 12 to 19. The Master Program is a 5 week intensive where they will cross train several different disciplines. Coaches and leaders will train 15 chosen applicants over the course of 5 weeks in their respective disciplines. Our intensives will perform a final performance at the end of the program. Classes may include but are not limited to Teeterboard (Exit & Korean Plank), Trampoline, Trampwall, Floor acrobatics, Hoop Diving, Trapeze, Duo Trapeze, Hand to hand, Lyra, Handstands, Russian Bar, Cradle, Silk, Straps, Active Flexibility, Contortion, Chinese Pole, Clowning and Rope. Athletes will participate in a 5 week intensive where they will cross train several different disciplines from the five pillars of circus which include Aerial, Ground, Rebound, Clowning/Theatre and Dance/Movement. Students will train 6 days a week, approximately 36 hours a week of focused training.
