Following critical acclaim, Tom Nemec is bringing his darkly humorous solo play, A Cat in a Box to New York this May. A Cat in a Box is an autobiographical piece, based on one man’s fractured childhood and hard-won healing, exploring love, loss, survival, and the enduring possibility of hope. Performed by Tom Nemec, and directed by Jim Mendrinos, this deeply personal solo show tells a story many can relate to.
Through darkly humorous and dramatic monologues, Nemec explores his experience of growing up in an alcoholic, dysfunctional family, showing how trauma shapes our lives – offering the possibility that no matter how dark the past, the present holds the possibility of light.
