The Circus Project Welcomes New Program Director, Amaya Alvarado

The Circus Project,  a non-profit circus school located in Portland, Oregon that provides recreational classes, intensive Training Companies, and multiple community partnerships, has recently announced the appointment of their new Program Director,  Amaya Alvarado.

Amaya has a wealth of experience as a circus educator and artist that she will bring to the role. She has worked with The Circus Project for many years as a coach and manager, and the school is excited to see her take on her next role in leadership.

After completing the Professional Program at the Circus Warehouse in NYC, and graduating from the New England Center for Circus Arts, Amaya co-created multiple contemporary circus shows, completed artistic residencies at la TOHU, SummerStage NY and Orchard Project Residency, and founded Aiya Productions.

The school also acknowledges  the work and legacy of their outgoing Program Director, Erica Rubinstein, who served the organization for five years and oversaw a significant program growth. Erica will stay on to coach at The Circus Project.
