Shana Kennedy, co-founder of Philadelphia School of Circus Arts and Circadium takes on a big topic in her recent Ted Talk, defining contemporary circus for new audiences. Kennedy describes her motivation for giving the talk, “I think of this talk as a ‘Contemporary Circus 101’, designed primarily for non-circus audiences. It is, however, a good overview even for circus practitioners, who may wonder how we got here. And I hope that others will build upon it / add to it with future presentations that can dig in a little deeper!”
