Theatre Re’s ‘Moments’ UK Tour This Autumn

Merging TED Talk with Theatrical Performance,Moments sees Theatre Re – acclaimed for their trademark style combining striking imagery and action with original live music – rediscovering why they do what they do and why it is important.

Moments is unlike any other show from the company’s repertoire; it creates a thought-provoking piece that explores time, fatherhood and grief whilst demystifying the theatre making process.

Marking over 13 years of working together on 6 shows that have toured 17 countries over 3 continents,Moments is Theatre Re’s move to pause and rediscover why. Weaving Katherine Graham, Guillaume Pigé and Alex Judd’s personal stories of becoming parents and reaching mid-life with theatrical imagination, they unpick their creative bond, re-evaluate success and make a new show. Ultimately,Moments is about attentiveness to; magic in the making of new work; poetry in our everyday; moment-by-moment existence; life as we live it.

Creating live performance that engages with audiences locally, nationally and internationally, Theatre Re makes, shares and promotes life-changing theatre that is both inventive and accessible through cross-arts and cross-sector collaboration. In high demand across the globe, their work combines original live music with striking visual theatre to create world class, deeply moving non-verbal productions about universal human challenges and the fragility of life.

Director Guillaume Pigé comments,Moments is different. It is just us and ultimately it is a question. What are we doing here? What’s the point? Why do we do what we do? Does anyone really know why they do what they do? And do they feel like it’s enough? The development of this new project is funded by Arts Council England, co-commissioned by London International Mime Festival, and supported by The Point Eastleigh, Shoreditch Town Hall, The Lowry Salford and University of York.
