Spotlight, the home of professional performers, will host its inaugural conference, uniting performers, agents, and casting professionals to discuss the position of the performing arts industry. The Spotlight Conference will take place on Tuesday 21st October 2025 in London, providing a crucial forum for the entire Spotlight community to engage in a frank and vital conversation about the challenges and opportunities the industry faces.
With the industry navigating significant change, from emerging technologies to shifting cultural landscapes, the event will serve as a platform for all stakeholders to address urgent issues from their unique perspectives.
The theme of The Spotlight Conference isShaping the Future of Talent Discovery, with the day’s programme designed to take attendees on a chronological journey: exploring the foundations that have shaped the industry, confronting the issues of today, and collectively building the future. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with urgent discussions on the role of AI in the casting process, the evolving dialogue around Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion (DEI), and the impact of digital media on an artist’s brand and legacy.
Managing Director at Spotlight Matt Hood comments,We believe that a successful future for our industry depends on collaboration. There are many issues facing our sector and it is vital that we come together to inform and shape those discussions. For far too long, performers have been an afterthought in policy. We hope to change that here.
A prevailing challenge in the industry is maintaining the connection between performers, agents and casting directors. Performers often feel left out of the conversations and policies that directly affect their careers, while they may not fully grasp the challenges that agents and
casting directors face. The Spotlight Conference aims to bridge this gap. By creating an open dialogue and shedding light on these processes, the conference hopes to foster greater transparency among performers, agents, and casting professionals.
In a move to make The Spotlight Conference more accessible, Spotlight’s ticketing partners Narrow Road and InterTalent have generously pre-purchased 60 tickets in total to be made available to performers. Performers interested in attending can apply for free through the ticket link on their Spotlight account homepage.
The full programme of sessions will be announced on 23rdSeptember, and tickets for agents and casting professionals will go on general sale on September 23rdat 11am on The Spotlight website.
