Acclaimed comedian, sex worker rights advocate, and podcaster Kaytlin Bailey brings her solo show The Oldest Profession to Clinton Street Theater on Jan 11 at 7 pm.
This unapologetic, hilarious, and deeply researched performance challenges centuries of stigma and rewrites the history of sex work with heart and humor.
The Oldest Profession balances comedy, education, and activism in a unique, unforgettable evening of storytelling. With her signature irreverence, Bailey, a former sex worker herself, breathes life into stories of women whose legacies have been ignored, erased, or vilified, from the sacred temples of ancient Mesopotamia to the brothels of Early Modern Europe and beyond.
“Sex workers have always been here,” says Bailey, whose work has been featured on NPR, The New York Times, and Rolling Stone.. “This show is about reclaiming our place in history”.
