Foundation for Stage Managers Announces Fall 2025 Fundraising Campaign

The Foundation for Stage Managers (FSM) is pleased to invite all of the amazing performers we know to participate in our Fall 2025 Fundraising Campaign. Our theme is: actors and stage managers Sharing the Spotlight.

Starting September 8, 2025, and running through October 8, the Foundation will be reaching out to our colleagues who are performing artists, seeking donations honoring the special bond between the actor and the stage manager. The money raised through this campaign will be used to fund grants to be awarded by the Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit established in 2022.

FSM supports and promotes the craft and the art of stage management by awarding funds for continuing career education and development, public events that enhance stage management skills, advocacy, as well as for educational efforts contributing to early Stage Manager education.

To make a contribution (and please feel free to donate even if you’re not a performer), visit: www.stagemanagersfoundation.com/donate. All donations to this campaign are tax-deductible as permitted by law. Our website can accommodate donations up to $1,000. To make a larger contribution, contact Board President Elynmarie Kazle at info@stagemanagersfoundation.com or 330-618-1501

We seek donors to join with some esteemed individuals who have already led by contributing to this campaign, including Bryan Cranston, Richard Thomas, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Miriam Margolyes.

Funds donated since 2022 have made it possible for FSM to award twenty grants. Here’s a partial list of what they support:

  • An individual Stage Manager to attend intimacy training.
  • Compensation for a Stage Manager position that had been a volunteer slot.
  • Training and promoting theatrical experience for BIPOC SMs in a local theater company.
  • A theater program to provide paid on-the-job training for beginning/early career SMs.
  • A webinar series increasing Stage Manager knowledge of technical specialties which interact with job activities.

Grant applications are being accepted from now through September 30, 2025. Awards will be announced on November 15, 2025.
