Buckets N Boards have kicked off their hilarious high-octane series of Summer shows
The comedy percussion theater of Buckets N Boards is a high-energy, laugh-out-loud performance packed with unique percussion, ridiculous songs, spectacular tap dancing, instrumentation and an incredible variety of musical talents. Created by Matthew Levingston and Gareth Sever, this one-of-a-kind, family-friendly comedy show is a product of their deep passion for music, comedy, and rhythm, and thrives on the dynamic and hilarious interactions between the duo and their audience.
How They Met
After college, Matt got hired at Dolly Parton’s Stampede, an equestrian show where he was a stunt rider on horses, comedian and Master of Ceremonies. It was there he met Gareth, the comedian in the show. In between the thousands of shows they did, they realized they had a shared passion for music and rhythm. So they taught each other a few lessons, wrote a few songs, street performed to hone their skills, built a show for the stage, and 17 years later… its the Buckets N Boards Comedy Percussion Show!
Having toured globally, Buckets N Boards is a highly sought-after headlining act for mega entertainment giant, Disney Cruise Line. They have also been featured twice with the Kansas City Symphony and are now entering their 14th award-winning season in Branson, MO.
How They Keep Their Energy Up
“Energy durning shows is always easy because the crowd is every bit a part of the show as we are. We like to keep things always open to improv and will frequently stop, mid show, to ask an audience member what they just yelled. We also know that a crowd can instantly tell when you are having fun or just going through the motions. So when the audience can see that we are having every bit as much fun as they are… the energy is infectious and we basically give energy back and forth to each other.”
When these two are not performing on stage they are happy to just be dads at home, enjoying time with the family and being able to “switch off”. Gareth writes and performs songs/jingles for his favorite podcast and its guests, Stand Up: With Pete Dominick. Matt has a couple side projects including a Youtube Heavy Metal Reaction channel with his eldest child Camryn called Matt & Camryn React; and a podcast with his wife called The Happily Ever Laughter Podcast: with Matt and Dynae, with previous success under the name Couple Thoughts.
