Today on the StageLync Podcast, we’re joined by Lisa Richards Toney, President and CEO of APAP — the Association of Performing Arts Professionals. Since stepping into the role on July 1, 2020, Lisa has led APAP through the pandemic years with a strong focus on sustainability, strengthening the organization’s business model, and ensuring members have the tools and information they need to thrive in the North American presenting, booking, and touring field.

With more than 25 years of leadership across arts and humanities organizations — including the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the Pen/Faulkner Foundation, The American Place Theatre, and the Debbie Allen Dance Academy — Lisa Richards Toney brings a clear, urgent message: we have to come together, tell our story better, and protect the uniquely human, in-person creative spaces that hold our communities together.
