Nadia Drouin Appointed Executive Director of En Piste

The board of directors of En Piste, National Circus Arts Alliance in Canada, is thrilled to announce Nadia Drouin’s appointment as Executive Director. Drouin has already been making a significant contribution to the organization since February 2023 as Interim Executive Director.

“We are pleased to welcome Nadia Drouin to the helm of the alliance at a strategic time in its development,” says Tim Roberts, chair of En Piste’s board of directors. “Her experience in various areas of the sector makes her the ideal person to steer our organization as it takes its next steps into the future.”

Nadia has been with En Piste since 2021, first as Project Manager for Destination cirque and then as Director of Services and Community Relations. After studying performance at the National Theatre School (1991), she worked at CEAD and Théâtre Espace GO and also joined the creative company Théâtre Pluriel before discovering the world of Quebec contemporary circus and street arts.

From 2004 to 2018, she was the Professional Services Coordinator and then Head of Programming at TOHU. In 2015, she spearheaded the creation of the International Market of Contemporary Circus (MICC), for which she co-developed international cooperation projects such as Autopistes and Circus Incubator. In 2018, she served as Director of the CINARS Biennale, another major milestone in her career. Her extensive expertise in circus arts dissemination led her to join En Piste, where she skillfully developed Destination cirque, a program dedicated to disseminating and promoting circus throughout Quebec. Today, nearly 40 promoters are involved in the program.

Nadia Drouin is known for her dynamic leadership, exceptional organizational skills, effective communication, willingness to listen, and openness to the circus community. Her experience and extensive knowledge of the community are undoubtedly major assets that will propel En Piste to new heights.

We look forward to seeing what will be achieved under her inspired leadership.
