The Black Blues Brothers: A Grand Farewell at the Edinburgh Fringe

The Fringe’sbest physical theatre show(Theatre Weekly) is returning to the Edinburgh Fringe for the fourth and final time with a grand farewell.  After three years of huge successes, standing ovations, sell-out shows and five-star reviews, this acrobatic celebration once again brings its athletic prowess, flips, tricks, fiery limbo, human pyramids and hilarious gags to Edinburgh, all set to the soulful tempo of The Blues Brothers music.

This circus tribute to the John Landis’ cult movie has established itself as a must-see international show with world tour of more than 900 dates with 600,000 spectators, from Australia to the United Arab Emirates, from Europe to Bahrain.  The troupe have even performed on the Royal Variety Performance, presented their show to Pope Francis and had a special appearance at the Moulin Rouge.

In an elegant Cotton Club-style lounge bar, a workman is dreaming of becoming one of the Blues Brothers.  Suddenly two characters appear, dressed in the iconic suits of John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd; they offer him the chance to make his dreams come true.  Led by the whims of an extravagant vintage radio, playing rhythm ‘n’ blues music (includingGimme Some Lovin’,Sweet Home Chicago andSoul Man), the acrobatics come to life with balancing acts, waving flags, jumping and fire tricks.  Every object becomes a prop with chairs, tables, hangers, vases and even mirrors used as tools for breathtaking acrobatics – all performed with a smile!

With their amazing tricks, The Black Blues Brothers remind us all that everything is possible when you have passion and are willing to let yourself go.
