Exciting New Developments for Cirque du Soleil’s “O”

After 25 years on stage and with over 19 million guests entertained, Cirque du Soleil’s “O” is cemented as the most successful production in the company’s history. Now, two exciting developments are set to enhance its legacy even further.
“O” Featured in a New Documentary
Cirque du Soleil’s “O” is the focus of a new documentary titled CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: WITHOUT A NET, now streaming on Prime Video as of July 25. Directed by Dawn Porter and produced by Mark Burnett, Barry Poznick, Dawn Porter, and Summer Damon, the documentary provides unprecedented access to the inner workings of the world’s most famous circus act.
The film chronicles the journey of the performers and crew as they prepare to reboot “O” after an abrupt global shutdown. As they strive to return to their world-class standards in time for the reopening night in Las Vegas, viewers are given a glimpse into the dramatic personal highs and lows that come with such an endeavor. Dawn Porter, known for her work on John Lewis: Good Trouble and Trapped, captures the essence of this iconic production’s revival.
“O” in Shared Reality at Cosm Los Angeles
In another groundbreaking development, Cosm, a leading immersive media and technology company, presented the first-ever Shared Reality production of “O” at Cosm Los Angeles. This innovative venue features an 87-foot diameter 12K+ LED dome, creating a bridge between the virtual and physical worlds.
Cosm’s Shared Reality experience combines state-of-the-art visuals with the energy of the crowd and enhanced food and beverage service, offering guests a unique vantage point of the aquatic masterpiece. This fully digital and immersive experience transports audiences to new realms, enveloping their senses with every sight, sound, and stunning detail of “O.”
Melanie Summers, Head of Global Licensing and Location-Based Entertainment at Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, “Cosm’s LED canvas is an entirely new and exciting avenue to amplify unforgettable performances and unlock a new level of immersion.” Neil Carty, VP, Head of Cosm Studios at Cosm, added, “Our collaboration with Cirque du Soleil will unleash a new level of access and immersion for the iconic ‘O’ for both longtime fans and those who want to experience it in an entirely new way.”
Tickets for “O” at Cosm Los Angeles start at $45 USD and are available on Cosm.com or via Cosm’s app. Meanwhile, Cirque du Soleil continues to present “O” live at the Bellagio in Las Vegas from Wednesday to Sunday, with shows at 7 PM and 9:30 PM PT. Tickets are available at Cirque du Soleil’s official website.
These two exciting developments—an insightful documentary and a revolutionary immersive experience—ensure that “O” will continue to captivate and enchant audiences for years to come.
