Creative Europe Calls for 2025 Projects

The European Commission has announced the 2025 Creative Europe Call for European Cooperation Projects, a major funding opportunity aimed at fostering collaboration across Europe’s cultural and creative sectors. Organizations engaged in cultural, artistic, and heritage activities can now apply for grants to develop innovative projects that promote cross-border exchange, sustainability, and inclusivity.

This call aligns with the European Union’s broader goals to strengthen cultural diversity and competitiveness within the creative industries. It encourages applicants to focus on themes such as environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and access to culture for all communities, including underrepresented groups.

As stated on the European Commission’s website:

With a budget of around €60 million (about 63 million USD), the action will foster cooperation between organisations active in the field of culture, to increase the cross-border dimension of creation and circulation of European artistic content. It will also encourage the development, experimentation, dissemination, and application of new and innovative practices.”

Key Highlights:

  • Funding Streams: Projects will be supported under three categories based on scale and scope: small, medium, and large-scale partnerships. Small-scale projects are particularly geared toward grassroots organizations, enabling these homegrown ambitious projects to create partnerships and launch activities such as festivals, exhibitions, and performances and will have funding up to €200,000 per project, covering up to 80% of costs. Medium-scale projects will have funding of up to €1,000,000 per project, covering up to 70% of eligible costs and should include co-production and innovative methods (e.g., digital tools) for addressing health, environmental, and societal challenges. Large-scale projects should be composed of a minimum of 10 organisations from 10 different eligible countries and are encouraged to explore areas like audience engagement, inclusion, gender equality, climate action, digitization, and culture’s role in health and well-being, particularly addressing youth mental health.
  • Eligibility: Nonprofit and public entities, such as cultural institutions, NGOs, and creative enterprises, from Creative Europe-participating countries can apply.Projects that are exclusively audio-visual content and/or exclusively composed of organisations from the audio-visual sector are not eligible to apply due to the organisation being part of the Culture strand of Creative Europe.

Drew Janine
Live Sound Engineer -EUROPE
Janine has always been a part of music and performing. The first show that inspired her to go into theatre was the Velveteen Rabbit which she saw as a child, and Drew works to keep that magic alive as working behind the scenes in theatre as a live sound engineer. When Drew was accepted into an internship program for audio engineering at a recording studio, she jumped at the opportunity. That was at the start of 2020 and so much has happened since then, both in her career and in the world. Since then, Drew has taken several opportunities to work at recording studios, concerts, festivals, and even large theatres while spending time on tour across the North American continent and Europe. Drew’s favourite by far though has been the chance to work on Broadway and West End shows, as this was a dream come true. Drew is honoured to get to share these experiences from being inside the entertainment industry and hopes to inspire others to continue working in theatre.
