About JUMP//FALL

The year is 2028. The world has finally found common wealth and well being for all. There are no more conflicts. There is a universal income for all. Peace, harmony, and prosperity are there for everyone… Nevertheless, some questions stubbornly remain…

Should I go here or there?

Should I dance or lean against the wall?

Should I hear or should I listen?

…Another day begins…

Do I Jump or Fall?

JUMP//FALL director  Juliana Neves is Circus Center’s Artistic Director and Head of School. “My life in the circus has been filled with literal jumps and falls, of course,” says Neves. “This show takes these physical movements as a metaphor for how people approach decisions in their lives. Do you leap headlong into a decision, or do you find yourself falling into a choice?” Through acrobatic daring, aerial grace, nimble juggling and more, eleven young artists will show audiences how they choose in love, in work, in friendship, and in life.

JUMP//FALL is the final installment in a trilogy of Neves’ shows that were inspired by the painting “Whether to Jump or Fall” by Garry Hobbs. This unique production features a cast of eleven exceptional youth from theSan Francisco Youth Circus. This program is well known for training youth who go on to successful careers as circus artists. Graduates of the San Francisco Youth Circus have worked for the biggest circuses, including Cirque du Soleil and 7 Fingers. Many SFYC alumni have even performed inDear San Francisco.
