Circomedia Welcomes Zannah Chisholm As New Chief Executive Officer

Circomedia, Centre for Contemporary Circus and Physical Theatre in Bristol, today announced the appointment of Zannah Chisholm as their new Chief Executive Officer. 

Zannah, who joined the Circomedia team as Interim CEO in July,has an extensive background in the arts, having spent over 10 years at Pavilion Dance as CEO and Artistic Director as well as a Regional Producer. She took the helm on 1^st August 2023.  

Zannah states: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Circomedia. The love of the organisation is really clear – from all those who expressed their delight when I first joined as Interim CEO, through to the passion and commitment of the staff and wider Circomedia family. I’m looking forwards to leaning into the future of contemporary circus to nurture new generations of circus artists, and to seeing where our imagination will take us.” 

Circomedia was established in 1994 as the UK’s Centre for Contemporary Circus research and production. It offers a variety of training courses and workshops, from BTEC and Undergraduate Degree and Master’s level courses to weekly classes for members of the public, that teach circus skills in the context of physical theatre, performance, and creativity. It also presents a programme of professional circus, theatre and dance shows, platforming innovative and challenging work in their Bristol city centre venue.
