Diploma of Collegial Studies in Circus Arts - DEC 561.D0
Graduate Degree Program
The Diploma of Collegial Studies in circus arts (DEC) is a 3-year program that combines specialized training in circus arts with the general Quebec college curriculum and leads directly to the professional career.. This program leads to a college diploma (DEC 561.D0) issued by the Quebec ministry of Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de la Science. This program is intended primarily for students from Canada or France but is open to international students as well.
Diploma of National Circus School Studies - DEE
Graduate Degree Program
The Diploma of National Circus School Studies (DEE) is a 3-year program that leads directly to the professional career. This higher-education program focuses specifically on circus arts training and leads to a diploma issued by the École nationale de cirque (National Circus School). It is reserved for foreign students, with the exception of those from France (see DEC program).
Assistant Instructor in Circus Arts
Graduate Degree Program
The goal of this program is to educate circus arts assistant instructors. These assistant instructors will be qualified to provide an initiation to various circus disciplines in the context of recreational activity. Upon graduating from the School, assistant instructors may further their professional development by enrolling in the Instructor (AEC-NRC.08) or in the Trainer in Circus Arts programs (AEC-NCR.09), receiving credit for the first 2 courses. The program requires 180 hours (120 course hours and 60 in work internship), which are offered full-time over one semesters. Next school year begins : August 2018 Registration deadline : April 15 2018
Instructor in Circus Arts
Graduate Degree Program
The goal of this program is to educate circus arts instructors. These instructors will be qualified to provide an initiation to various circus disciplines in the context of recreational activity. These instructors may also serve as educators in the social services arena, introducing young people at risk to the circus arts. Upon graduating from the School, instructors may further their professional development by enrolling in the Trainer in Circus Arts program (AEC-NCR.09), receiving credit for the first 5 courses. The program requires 360 hours (270 course hours and 90 in work internship), which are offered full-time over two semesters. Next school year begins : August 2018 Registration deadline : April 15 2018
Trainer in Circus Arts
Graduate Degree Program
The goal of this program is to prepare trainers in circus arts. These trainers will contribute directly to the development of the circus arts professionals of the future by providing highest-quality instruction in techniques associated with the circus. In addition to the recreation and social service sectors, educators may be employed in the professional preparatory education sector in circus arts, in primary or secondary-level schools, or in the area of continuing education of circus professionals. The program requires 765 hours (555 course hours and 210 in work internship) offered full-time over three semesters. Next school year begins : August 2018 Registration deadline : April 15 2018
Instructor in Circus Arts | E-Learning
Graduate Degree Program
The goal of this program is to educate circus arts instructors. These instructors will be qualified to provide an initiation to various circus disciplines in the context of recreational activity. These instructors may also serve as educators in the social services arena, introducing young people at risk to the circus arts. The École nationale de cirque (National Circus School) now offers an online version of the circus arts Instructor program in English. The program takes place over a period of 17 weeks. It consists of mostly virtual sessions along with a week of onsite training with the School's teachers in Montreal or another city depending on the session. Upon graduating from the School, instructors may further their professional development by enrolling in the Trainer in Circus Arts program, receiving credit for the first 5 courses and their 90 hours work experience internship. Next session : February 17 to June 29, 2018 Registration deadline : January 31, 2018
Circus and High School Studies
High School Studies Program
This arts-academic program makes it possible for young people to begin professional circus arts training while pursuingschooling. Studies lead to a high school diploma (Diplôme d’études secondaires or DES) accredited by the ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur du Québec. Classes are taught in French. Educational Approach The Circus and High School Studies program includes all subjects required by the Quebec secondary teaching syllabus, along with solid technical and artistic training in basic circus arts disciplines, dance and acting. The program includes numerous occasions for students to apply their artistic training by performing before an audience, culminating in the Annual Show in which students participate in all areas of production.​
