AirCraft Circus Academy is a circus training school and professional performance company based in South-East London.

AirCraft Circus Academy was originally founded in 2002 as AirCraft Circus, the company has over 20 years of experience in training young people, adults, aspiring circus artists, and professionals in circus skills. Led by directors Lucy Francis and Nik Litton, in 2018 the company rebranded into AirCraft Circus Academy and opened a new training venue with modern facilities to match the unparalleled quality of AirCraft Circus Academy's training offers.

Static Trapeze

Recreational Programs

Static Trapeze is our most popular circus skill. Building fitness and strength-training you'll learn to create mesmerising displays around a bar hung above the ground. You'll develop stamina, determination and self-belief and have the satisfaction of mastering the core moves necessary to build your very own routine. AirCraft Circus strongly recommends that all students new to circus/aerial skills start with Static Trapeze as this a great beginner skill which will help to increase your upper body strength. Aerial Silks

Recreational Programs

Silks (a.k.a. tissue, ribbon or fabric) is simply the most stunning, lyrical form of circus training. Hanging from two coloured fabric strips, you entwine your body in the material and then… the fun begins! Swinging, rolling, dropping and wrapping yourself with the silks you'll create elegant, beautiful shapes and build a routine as you enhance your strength and fitness. Aerial Hoop

Recreational Programs

The aerial hoop (a.k.a. lyra, aerial ring or cerceau) is a circular steel apparatus (resembling a hula hoop) suspended from the ceiling, on which artists perform aerial acrobatics. Very similar to the skills of Static Trapeze, just on a round metal frame. If you want to combine fitness, strength and stamina with a truly beautiful spectacle then Hoop is for you. Suspended mid air above the ground you create graceful shapes and stunning forms around a spinning circular frame. Rope

Recreational Programs

Rope is the purest, simplest piece of equipment in circus arts. But don't let its simplicity fool you – when you take on Rope you enter a whole new world of challenges and rewards. You'll learn to twist and turn your body around the swinging rope as you defy gravity in a seamless sequence of shapes and movement. Flying Trapeze

Flying Trapeze is the classic circus art – beautiful, inspirational and frequently breathtaking. It's all about taking a risk, being in the moment and acting on instinct. Take classes* with us at AirCraft Circus Academy and you'll learn to build strength, stamina, grace and flexibility. *we fly on a petit volant rig, landing on mats. Straps

Recreational Programs

Straps, also known as Aerial Straps, are a type of aerial apparatus on which various feats of strength and flexibility may be performed, often in the context of a circus performance. The skills and performance have parallels to gymnastic rings. The straps are made from sturdy nylon/cotton fabric that looks like two suspended ribbons, with handhold loops at the ends. You will be learning held poses and postures done on the straps, as well as flips and turns. Once mastered, these can be combined in routines with dance moves performed on the floor away from the straps, with partner acrobatics, or even with the straps raised and lowered for a breathtaking display. Foundation Course in Circus Arts

Preparatory Program

16-week, full-time, intensive training course for adults (16yrs+) offered twice per year, Spring and Autumn. AirCraft Circus Academy's Foundation Course in Circus Arts helps students develop into professional artists within a safe and structured group environment, building a solid foundation in the core disciplines of aerial, Chinese pole and ground based acrobatics. Intermediate Course in Circus Arts

Preparatory Program

16-week, full-time, intensive traning course for adults (16yrs+) offered twice per year, Spring and Autumn. AirCraft Circus Academy's Intermediate Course in Circus Arts has been designed for students who already have a foundation in circus arts. Entry is automatic for those students who have completed the Foundation Course in Circus Arts with AirCraft Circus Academy but of course we welcome students wishing to join us from outside. https://aircraftcircus.com/pages/intermediate-course

Youth Circus - Trapeze Tots (4-6yrs)

Let your little ones bounce, balance and learn the foundations of circus skills with experienced instructors in a safe group environment. AirCraft Circus Academy have been teaching adults circus skills for 10 years and have now opened our doors to the newest generation of circus artists. Improve motor skills, coordination, balance, strength and confidence in a friendly but disciplined setting. Places are limited, and courses fill up fast. As a result we do not offer drop in sessions. Book early to avoid disappointment. Please note specators are not permitted. Circus Ninjas are divided in to two age groups: 'Little Ninjas' for ages 7-9 and 'Big Ninjas' for ages 10-12. Classes run alongside each other on Tuesdays but different times on Sundays. It's the most exciting Youth Circus School in London – AirCraft Circus Academy is proud to offer our Tuesday after school and Sunday afternoon Circus Little Ninjas Club (7-9yrs). Come along and learn trapeze, juggling, acrobatics, tightwire and lots more!!! AirCraft Circus Academy have been teaching adults and children circus skills for over 10 years. We strongly believe that learning circus skills will improve motor skills, coordination, balance, strength and confidence in a friendly but disciplined environment. Cyr Wheel

A dazzling spectacle of spins, inversions and dizzying pirouettes… The visually impressive Cyr Wheel is a large, metal, grounded hoop that the performer rolls and spins inside. Our Cyr Wheel course is suitable for all levels, though mostly welcoming beginners. A fun, friendly class to start you off on your Cyr Wheel journey. Aerial Conditioning

Are you struggling with learning new moves in classes? Or feel like you’ve reached a plateau? Or maybe you are just starting and need to build up strength to train in the air? Our Aerial Conditioning Class could be the perfect class for you! This hour long conditioning class focuses on conditioning exercises fine tuned to aerial arts, utilising aerial equipment and some of the best floor based exercises; this class will help you build the strength you need to excel in your aerial classes! Or perhaps aerial arts aren't you're thing? But you fancy changing up your regular fitness routine? You don't need to be learning aerial to benefit from this class, the strength you’ll build during these sessions will benefit you in day to day life, and help you in all kinds of unexpected ways!
