Description:Stage Operations Technician* Position(s): 2 * Dates: Arrive: Thurs May 21, Start: Fri May 22, Last Day: Sun Aug 23, Depart: Mon Aug 24 * Pay: $16.00 an hour, non-exempt position, eligible for overtime * Housing: Shared housing, fully furnished, collegiate style with a shared bedroom. Weekly Housing fee of $100.00 * Travel: Not provided * Location: Brunswick, ME Primary Responsibilities Essential functions include (but are not limited to): * Direct Supervisor: Stage Operations Supervisor * Work run crew for every main stage performance * Work run crew for TYA performances and Concerts as assigned * Assist with the rigging/setup/operating of moving set pieces, automation, and related equipment * Organize and maintain backstage spaces * Pre-show and post show duties which include cleaning the stage and backstage, setting up and striking props, and resetting scenery * Daily inspections of stage equipment * Run automation and theatrical effects as assigned * Maintain and repair all scenery, set pieces, and properties * Assist maintaining stock of stage consumables * Work in the scene shop 1 day a week and as assigned by the Director of Production under the supervision of the TD * Attend all run-throughs, backstage prep, technical rehearsals, performances, load ins, and strikes as scheduled * Participate in MSMT events as needed and/or required * Adhere to the MSMT Safety protocols and all other applicable MSMT policies + procedures * Drive MSMT vehicles * Promote a collaborative, inclusive, positive and respectful working environment * Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Production and MSMT Annual Staff Qualifications The following skills and experience are required: * Experience working backstage run crew, with counterweight rigging systems, live entertainment rigging practices, and stage automation * Trained in the safe operation of stationary and portable power tools and hand tools * Proficient with Microsoft Office and other applicable software * Organizational, interpersonal, time management, multi-tasking, problem solving, and communication skills * Can work in a fast-paced, energized, and quickly changing environment * Able to work independently and as a team player * Detail oriented and able to prioritize efficiently * Drivers license and clean driving record required * Car preferred but not required TO APPLY Please submit to Kyle Coyer, Director of Production at [email protected], your cover letter, employment resume, 3 contact references which should include the persons Name, position, company they work for, and email address.
