Job Title: Retail Supervisor – Harry Potter™: A Hogwarts Express Adventure

Division/Department: Rail Events Productions (REP)/Front of House

Reports To: REI Business Manager & AHR Retail Manager

Type of position: Non-exempt/Hourly

Employee Classification: Seasonal

Compensation: $23.00/hr



Job Summary

The Retail Supervisor will primarily manage all event retail production aspects in coordination with the AHR Retail Manager and the local Front of House & Business Manager. They will serve as the on-site direct contact and will be responsible for professional communication with third-party vendors, railroad staff, event employees, and passengers. The Retail Supervisor coordinates merchandising, inventory control, staff support and daily operations to deliver a seamless passenger experience. The Retail Supervisor will carry out responsibilities with a strong sense of urgency, work well under pressure and demonstrate excellent multitasking abilities, and consistently maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Maximize profitability by managing daily staff duties, executing inventory controls including replenishment, stockroom controls, and receiving.



Oversee daily fast-paced operations including all opening/closing processes and register management while ensuring 100% compliance with AHR Retail Team event standards.



Maintain strict cleanliness, meet all safety protocols and show ready merchandising standards set by AHR Retail Team.



Cultivate a customer focused culture ensuring staff members deliver personalized service while driving sales.



Lead staff training and inspire a high performing staff to deliver exceptional customer service, manage employee performance, and morale in a temporary and at times fast paced environment.



Assist FOH Manager by ensuring the “Retail or F&B” staff is taking their proper breaks



Become familiar with the product line and assist with load in and load out processes.



Maintain consistent and transparent communication with the AHR Retail Team by providing retails updates, fulfilling requests for photos, participating in one-on-one meetings, onsite visits, and team calls to ensure alignment with all goals and standards.

Qualifications



Collaborative team player who is organized, reliable, detail oriented and a strong problem solver



At least 2 years of retail sales or other applicable experience is strongly preferred



Prior experience and a working knowledge of point-of-sales systems are a plus



Proven ability to work alongside and provide leadership for the event staff



Possess strong self-motivation and thrives while working independently under remote management



Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written forms



Physically capable of lifting heavy objects



Work Environment



Majority of work is performed onsite in an event space setting



Varied schedule requiring evenings, weekends, and overtime



Able to stand and walk on uneven or unsteady surfaces aboard a moving train



Time spent in and around active railroad yard(s)
