Open Call for Artists at the
12th Berlin Circus Festival from 05. – 16.08.2026

We invite artists to present their artworks or create site-specific works at the international Berlin Circus Festival at Tempelhofer Feld.

We are looking for works of all genres, such as sculpture, performance (no circus acts), painting, video or photography, that are suitable for weatherproof, temporary outdoor presentation on the festival site or in a container. This includes existing works as well as site-specific works that can be shown or created.

The festival offers a platform for encounters between contemporary circus and visual arts. In an open-air exhibition, you will have the opportunity and support to present your artistic work to over 14,000 visitors in an extraordinary setting between the circus tent and the grandstand.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Artists who would like to be part of the Berlin Circus Festival
* Artworks of all genres (sculpture, installation, painting, photography, video, etc.) suitable for installation outdoors
* Artworks that relate to the terms of ‘city’, ‘circus’, ‘body’ or ‘encounter’ or that have a connection to the circus or the location

WE OFFER
* An extraordinary exhibition opportunity as part of an international festival against the backdrop of Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin
* An exhibition compensation of EUR 350
* If necessary, support with art transportation within Berlin (by arrangement)
* Catering during set-up and dismantling
* High visibility with over 14,000 festival visitors
* Promotion of the artists and their work on our website, social media and flyers
* Photographic documentation of the exhibition for further use
* One day tickets for the 12th Berlin Circus Festival

APPLICATION
* completed application form
* 1-4 images of the work or sketches of concept

Please note the following specifications of the images:
Naming: Your name + photo credits
Resolution: 300 dpi (min. 200 dpi, or quality sufficient for
an approx. A4 print)

Please submit your application in full and observe the above specifications. Incomplete applications or submissions for circus-acts cannot be considered.
You can apply with several works or concepts. Please fill out a separate application form for each work/concept (a series can be submitted in one application).
Announcement of the decision on participation will be made by end of May 2026.
With your participation, you guarantee that you will set up and dismantle your own artwork on site (in coordination with the curators).
With your application, you agree that the texts and images provided may be used for advertising and communication purposes for the Berlin Circus Festival.
