An esteemed international dance competition is currently accepting submissions for its 13th annual event in 2026. This competition is dedicated to fostering contemporary choreographic innovation across diverse dance forms and techniques. The prestigious event will take place at Espacio Cinético TaKtá in Navalmoral de la Mata, Cáceres, Spain. A preliminary selection round is scheduled for October 23rd, followed by the grand Final on October 24th, 2026. This initiative champions modern choreographic expression and is open to choreographers of all nationalities. Entrants are invited to submit original works ranging from 10 to 15 minutes in length. A distinguished Selection Panel will pre-select three pieces for direct entry into the Final. Additionally, five works will be chosen for a preliminary showcase. From this preliminary stage, two more outstanding pieces will advance to the Final: one selected by an expert Jury and another by audience vote, resulting in a total of five finalists. A significant First Prize of €5,000 awaits the winning choreographer. Submissions will be rigorously evaluated by a panel of national and international dance professionals. Evaluation criteria include originality, inventive spirit, innovation, artistic daring, clarity of execution, mastery of choreographic language, and effective utilization of space and musicality. This competition receives generous support from the Ministerio de Cultura and Junta de Extremadura, with additional backing from the Ayuntamiento de Navalmoral de la Mata. The deadline for applications is October 1st, 2026.
