Casting Magic Cabaret 2026-2027
Following the four successful runs of Julia, Alice, and Sophie at the Cabaret and the Secret Cabaret, the Magic Cabaret is opening its casting call for its fifth production. This year again, a troupe of around ten artists will be assembled to inhabit and electrify the stage of the Magic Mirrors from December 2026 to February 2027.

Last season, over 15,000 spectators came to discover this original show, across some fifty performances. Magic Cabaret is about offering everyone the touch of poetry they need at the end of the year, in the enchanting setting of Magic Mirrors, guided by talented artists in the unique world of 1920s cabarets.

Playground

This year again, the Magic Mirror will return to its place within the maritime station at Tour & Taxis in Brussels. The Magic Mirror is a tent made of wood and mirrors with a central stage offering 360° performances.

Tour and number of dates

The show will premiere in early December 2026, and performances will run until mid-February 2027. Approximately fifty performances are planned during this period. Each week, there will be two days off, with a maximum of nine performances scheduled.

Rehearsals

Group rehearsals will begin in mid-November and will continue for three weeks until early December.

Magic Mirror Overview
Artistic direction & disciplines sought

The show presented as part of Magic Cabaret is an original creation, produced by the Namur en Mai and LaSemo teams and featuring a new cast each year. The true richness of the show lies in the artists' diverse and complementary personalities and disciplines. A cohesive narrative links all the acts, placing them within a coherent framework that invites the audience to disconnect, dream, and let their imaginations run wild.

More than just a troupe, we aim to create a family for the duration of a season. We envision a family composed of artists who not only have one (or more) individual performances to offer, but who also share a desire to integrate their artistic practice into a cohesive whole, where each member's creativity becomes a collective strength, and where certain acts are performed together. Each artist will therefore contribute to their own act(s) while also playing a role at various points in the show, enriching the creative process.
