***Overhire Scenic Carpenter (Overhire Winter Seasonal)***
The Glimmerglass Festival seeks a Scenic Carpenter for its 2026 Winter Season.
The Scenic Carpenter works as a member of a nine-person carpentry crew. The Scenic Carpenter reports to the Head Carpenter and Assistant Technical Director of Scenery and works alongside other Scenic Carpenters and two Scenic Carpentry Apprentices.
The primary goals of the position will include assisting with the construction of five large-scale productions through work involving cutlisting, raw material preparation, priming steel, construction of both lumber and metal/steel projects, prepping projects for the paint department, transferring items between the carpentry shop and paint shop, and general carpentry projects. There may be some general carpentry projects around campus as well during downtime.
Some of the work this position performs is at height, on ladders, or in lifts; involves lifting equipment to elevated positions; and requires the frequent use of power tools for both lumber and steel construction. Basic wood construction and metalworking knowledge are needed. Some projects will be worked on independently, while other projects will require working in a group setting. The responsibilities of this position require the employee to be physically present on campus to complete the tasks assigned. This position has offices or workspaces that require the employee to climb flights of stairs. Additional training, workshops, and seminars may be provided during the season.
This is a seasonal position; employees who work well within the team have the potential of being offered a contract for the Summer Festival Season and are often asked to return for subsequent seasons. Commitment to safe work habits and shop practices is essential. Must be willing to abide by Glimmerglass Festival’s current and potential future health and wellness policies.
This position runs from January 5 to May 1, 2026. $20.00/Hr. Housing is provided, and a $200.00 travel reimbursement is offered.

Position Description:
The Glimmerglass Festival seeks an Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Finance team, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable and a supportive role within the office. The primary goals of the position include maintaining an accurate and efficient Accounts Payable (AP) process, overseeing invoice management, fostering strong fiscal communication throughout the company, and with external vendors.
Responsibilities:
Manage and distribute incoming invoices, bills and statements
Assist staff members with Purchase Orders as needed
Monitor budget coding information on submitted POs
Obtain proper authorizations for all invoices
Prepare & enter invoices into Quickbooks with data accuracy
Handle confidential financial paperwork with discretion and professionalism.
Electronically deposit incoming monies daily
Assemble weekly check run for signatories and ensure proper procedures are followed
Upload check run weekly to banking system.
Monitor company utilities (phone, internet, heating, water, etc.) and ensure payments are made within the due date
Manage recurring charge accounts
Maintain all Vendor Accounts with current documentation (Addresses, DD, W-9, tax exemption status)
Review 1099 vendor information for year-end processing
Assist with vendor credit applications
Assist Accounting Manager and Director of Finance in any other projects as requested
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Strong proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office; familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop is a plus, though not required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem-solve to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to work independently on daily duties, with a capacity to work well in teams and collaborate across departments

Position Overview
The Managing Director (MD) provides leadership in the coordination, supervision, and advancement of the Festival’s operations and budget. The MD is responsible for protecting the Glimmerglass Festival’s assets, resources, people, and reputation.
Reporting directly to the Artistic & General Director, the MD oversees and manages the Festival’s operations, budget, and general administration. The Operations, Finance, and Human Resources functions report directly to the MD. When the Artistic & General Director is unavailable, the MD has authority to act on their behalf.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the MD collaborates on both short- and long-range planning and helps ensure the organization’s mission, stability, and growth. The MD also fosters effective communication across departments, builds positive relationships with Trustees and community stakeholders, and ensures smooth and compliant daily operations.
