West End Star Shanay Holmes Announces Debut Studio Album ‘BECOMING’
Award-winning West End actress Shanay Holmes, best known for her critically acclaimed portrayal of Nancy inOliver!,announces the release of her debut studio albumBECOMING,this October, preceded by the release of her first single,No One Is Aloneon 10thJuly. Featuring eleven reimagined musical theatre classics alongside an original title track written by Shanay herself,BECOMINGis more than a traditional covers album. Each song has been transformed through Shanay’s distinctive vocal interpretation and bold new orchestral arrangements, creating both a love letter to musical theatre and a compelling emotional journey in its own right.
The album explores universal themes of hope in the face of hardship, the search for connection and a sense of belonging, resilience, survival, and protection—ideas that feel especially resonant in the world today.
Showcasing Shanay’s extraordinary range and artistry across some of the most iconic songs ever written for the stage,BECOMINGis a rich, cinematic offering helmed by renowned producer Steve Anderson, whose production credits include Westlife and Susan Boyle. Featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the album brings a bold, contemporary orchestral sound to some of musical theatre’s most iconic songs.
