For our young people to get the opportunity to perform on the same stage as so many of our Alumni is a joy and we look forward to sharing the preview of our 2025 programme ahead of the summer in Birmingham.
This London performance leads into NYMT’s exciting 2025 Summer Season, which features four new productions in Birmingham. From the high-energy Fame: The Musical to the UK premiere of Tuck Everlasting and the magical new musical LightningBoy (all taking place at Birmingham Hippodrome), the season showcases the breadth and depth of talent within NYMT’s young company. It will culminate in a striking site-specific staging of Carousel, performed on a working fairground carousel, reflecting NYMT’s bold and imaginative approach to theatre-making.
Alongside this, NYMT will present FairGround, a bold and inclusive new arts festival for children and young people from all backgrounds across Birmingham. Hosted at City Academy, the festival offers free creative workshops, including specialist drama and music sessions for newly arrived children attending CORE Hello, a programme supporting young people as they settle into Birmingham schools and communities.
With nearly 50 years of experience, NYMT continues to provide top-tier professional development for emerging theatre-makers through masterclasses, skills workshops, and residential courses. In 2025, the organisation is awarding £50,000 in bursaries to ensure opportunities remain accessible to all.
