Musical theatre star Michael Pickering has released a powerful new Country Music single that considers how we can all sometimes feel at the mercy of the wishes of a friend. After an incredibly successful career leading the biggest musicals in London’s West End, Pickering knew it was time to tell his story through his own, original music.
Pickering has toured major theatres across the UK and arenas all over the world with credits includingStarlight Express,Jersey BoysandJoseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Don’t Go was born from a thoughtful night out in Tennessee — an evening that felt like it would have gone in a completely different direction if one particular friend had been there. That friend who, no matter what, will not let you leave the party and will forever be armed with the immortal line, ‘I just bought you one more’. This powerful song considers friendship, societal pressures and that never-ending night out.
Hailing from the north-east of England and fresh from a productive stint in Nashville, Michael Pickering has teamed up with award winning producer, Tim Prottey-Jones (First Time Flyers, The Wandering Hearts) to bring his extraordinary stories to life. Pickering’s music gives a glimpse into his true character; he is unashamedly candid about his upbringing and the heartbreak he has endured that has led to him being the artist and writer you see and hear today.
