According to the official release, titledFrom New York, With Love will play for twelve shows starting the weekend of 24th and 25th of January. One weekend shows per month will be in April, May, June and July. No shows are currently booked for February or March. Tickets for all shows are on a first come first serve basis. This is his first concert series in five years, and Broadway fans are welcoming him back after a brief break from the stage to go back to Hollywood. Not only has he won two Tony Awards, he has also hosted the awards show.
The renowned actor has portrayed several roles in major theatrical productions over his career. During the residency, he will be reprising some of the music from these roles including songs from productions off stage.
The Greatest Showman is perhaps Hugh Jackman’s latest most iconic role. The red tailcoat, three ring circus, and fantastic musical numbers bring audiences to a time of wonderment that comes alive. Before he left for Hollywood again, Jackman was the leading role inThe Music Man and fans everywhere were disappointed when it closed earlier than expected (likely due to scheduling conflicts with Jackman’s schedule for filming).The Boy from Oz pays great tribute to his earlier days on stage and is portrayed well with the actor from Australia himself.

He has also starred on London’s West End during his early days on stage forOklahoma! He also starred in the film’s remake in 1999. Long-time fans of his are hopeful to see him renew this and other roles of his from movie-musicals. His role of Jean Valjean in the latest live action ofLes Miserables is another portrayal everyone would love to see live on stage.
While this wouldn’t be Hugh Jackman’s first time doing a solo show, he has promised to bring some famous friends of his. He toured with his solo showThe Man. The Music. The Show.which also included songs from his time as a great showman. Unlike that former show, it is currently unclear ifFrom New York, With Love will get a tour. The show will also comprise of “other surprises from his career” according to AEG. Bringing along his recent co-star, the Broadway actor will have his long-time friend Ryan Reynolds possibly share the stage with him as they recently did on screen. Hugh Jackman announced in a video (similar to the one Reynolds did to bring Jackman back to Hollywood) asking his friend if he wanted to come to one of the live performances. Reynolds excitedly shouted (off-camera) that he would “break out the eye-liner” after asking if he would be in it.
