Cologne CircusDanceFestival Announces Open Calls
The Cologne CircusDanceFestival is a one-of-a-kind annual event in Germany, bringing together contemporary circus and dance to explore political, experimental, and interdisciplinary ideas. As the festival gears up for its next edition from June 6-8, 2025, in Cologne, the organizers have announced two exciting open calls for artists and filmmakers:
Open Call: 360° Shorts
Are you a circus or dance artist with a short solo or duo act? CircusDanceFestival is seeking original performances for a 360° outdoor stage. Pieces should be up to 15 minutes long, suitable for daylight, and not works-in-progress. Whether you’re established, emerging, or experimenting across disciplines, this is your chance to shine.

The performance should be designed for a 360° audience, be a solo or duo act lasting no more than 15 minutes, fit an outdoor daylight stage, and require minimal technical support.
Open Call: Circus & Film
Calling all filmmakers! CircusDanceFestival is collaborating with Cologne’s Moovy Filmfestival to showcase films in their open-air cinema program. They’re looking for short or long films—whether experimental, documentary, or performative—with a focus on circus or hybrid forms. If your film dives into themes of the body, light, or sound, they want to see it!
