Circus Talk Announces “A Day in the Life” Instagram Series on 250th Anniversary of Modern Circus

January 9th is the 250th anniversary of modern circus, and fortunately it will not pass unnoticed by the public and the circus industry, even in a post Barnum world. Throughout the year, we will be joining many organizations and individuals from our community to commemorate the multi-faceted history of circus. We also want to pay tribute to this milestone by showcasing not only our common circus history but the vibrant, flourishing and diverse global circus culture.

With that goal in mind, we are launching our Instagram takeover series called “A Day in the Circus Life.”  Valued members of Circus Talk will have the opportunity to takeover our Instagram account and show us their life for one day.

We will start the “A Day in the Circus Life” series on Jan 13th, when Circus Smirkus, the US-based youth circus camp and touring performance troupe, will share with us a day of auditioning young talent for their upcoming big top tour. Through this year-long series, you will get a peek into the lives of Circus Talk members and organizations as they participate in the activities that keep circus thriving; attending circus festivals, professional conferences, creation processes, behind the scenes visits to an artist’s life and much more.

If you or someone you know would be interested in sharing their circus life for a day with the international community, contact our Social Media and Community Manager Fiona Bradley at [email protected]. In the meantime, sign up at Circus Talk to keep abreast of industry news and to be part of the fastest growing open source information center for professionals in the circus industry. Follow us on Instagram @circustalk (#adayinthecircuslife) to keep abreast of our “A Day in the Circus Life” series and to be inspired by the life of many circus folks with us!
