Valentina Seguel was born in Moscow in 1982. This Venezuelan girl, studied Translation and Interpretation in the Central University of Venezuela, and obtained her degree in 2009. At the same time, she formed as a contemporary dancer in the Taller Experimental Pisorrojo and in some other contemporary dance companies such as Mudanza, Taller Danza Caracas and Caracas Roja Laboratorio. In 2003, she started to do circus in an empirical way. She participates in several festivals such as Festival Villanueva Arquitectura en Movimiento, Festival Dedalus de la Artes, Festival de Movimiento, and Festival Internacional de Teatro and participates in different dance companies such as DanzaHoy, 100% Impro y Caracas Roja Laboratorio. In 2006, she goes to Paris for studying circus at the Académie Fratellini, where she works as technician for the show "Dédale" and realize her first independent production as a contemporary circus artist in the frame of Actes Premiers, named "Garúa". In 2007, she returns to Venezuela and participates in several circus companies, Sintéticas Asmáticas, Sociedad Anónima, Circosur and the Nacional Circus Company of Venezuela. She obtained the price of "Young Artists" in the IV y V International Circus Festival of Venezuela. In 2010, she does her first European tour, Italy, France, Belgium. She takes dance lessons in Brussels in Danse Centrum Jette and the Raffinerie Charleroi Danse with world renowned dancers such as Thi-Mai Nguyen, Robert M. Hayden, Peter Jasko, Marielle Morales, Cruz Isael Mata, David Zambrano, Dominique Duszynski, Claire O'Neil among others and handles a creation project in Espace Catastrophe. In 2011, she does her second tour in Italy and started the program of the Circus School Vertigo at Torino, where she gets her diploma as a Professional Contemporary Circus Artist. During that time she also participates in the Festival Sul Filo dil Circo and Festival Mirabillia. In 20014, she returned one more time to Venezuela where she holds silks workshops for kids. In 2014, she went to Chili and taught silks workshops in Olmué city . Currently, she lives in Venezuela and teaches a permanent rope and silks workshop in the community where she lives and she creates her new performing act. Recently she went to Detroit, in the United States, to the Agora Arts circus studio, and hold a one month workshop on research and creativity on rope and silks as well as some others one day workshops.
