ARTIST'S STATEMENT
As a fourteen-year classically trained musician turned circus artist, I am quick to pick-up music ques, have a natural sense for timing, and exceptional musicality and dynamic movement. As a circus artist, feel at home on-stage, having spent most of my life performing in solo and group settings. My background in music also makes me a natural team player- in an orchestra you have to constantly be aware of others, balancing and blending with them in real-time. I love working with others, and can follow or lead depending on what is needed in the moment. I believe that circus arts are the ultimate form of expression, using music and movement to directly connect with audiences of all ages. Through my circus performances, I hope to inspire people to move, to discover that their body is also capable of incredible things, and to know that there is a place for everyone in circus arts, no matter their age or ability.
SKILLS and SERVICES
Robin Best is an aerialist specializing in dance trapeze. She can have an act ready in any style, by your request. From beautiful, lyrical movement to startling drops and precarious hangs, she will create an act that suits your venue and audience. She can perform ambiently on my dance trapeze to enhance any event, with or without a blind-fold. Fully choreographed aerial acts are also available to delight audiences of all ages and tastes. Robin Best is also fluent in lyra, silks, and static trapeze.
Robin Best is an experienced juggler, able to juggle up to four balls and three clubs, knives, or fire torches. She can juggle ambiently for any event. Fully choreographed juggling acts are also available, often with clowning and acrobatic elements. This juggler is highly interactive and will have your audience juggling and laughing along in no time!
Robin Best can walk and dance on any terrain in her stilts. Robin adds to the magic by engaging audiences directly and mingle with guests, embodying any character required for the mood of your event. Reaching over nine feet tall in her stilts, Robin amazes kids and adults alike, creating memorable photo opportunities, and encouraging audiences to dance along.
Robin Best is a flying trapeze catcher for the flying team and recreational classes at Gainesville Circus Center! The catchers trapeze is her favorite place to be. Since she began her catching training in 2020, and she has caught almost 300 different tricks from flyers of all abilities, always delivering them safely back to the bar or net.
