Hello, I’m Mermaid Rachel and I’m here to be in YOUR waters!

My name is Rachel Smith and I’m coming to you from beautiful Sacramento, CA where I perform at the world famous Dive Bar, which features a 40 ft saltwater aquarium complete with live fish! I have worked at the Dive Bar since we opened our doors in 2011, where I am not only a performer but the Head Mermaid whose duties include hiring, training, scheduling, safety protocols, set design, lighting, makeup and costume design for the mermaid team.

Dive Bar is one of only a small handful of daily operating underwater theater venues in the United States. I have also guest performed at two of the other venues, the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas, NV and the Wreck Bar in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

I’m not only a big fish in a small pond, but I have extensive experience across the world; I have taught movement and modeling workshops aboard a sailing ship in the Caribbean, coached movie stars in underwater performance for feature films, planed and executed the annual California Mermaid Convention in Sacramento, swam in underwater fashion shows, and even took part in the first 360 degree movie experience filmed in the Mexican Cenotes. Not to mention hundreds of private, public and corporate parties and events under my fins through my LLC Mermaid and Mom. In the past I have also been lifeguard certified, and I am PADI mermaid Certified.

I’m the perfect fit for your production; I’m an extremely reliable, underwater performer with close to two decades of experience. I have entertained crowds enormous and intimate across the country and across the world. I am always striving to learn more and expand my skills and knowledge in this unique genre of artistry. As a professional hula dancer, I work well with others and I understand the rigors of group performances, and precision entertainment.
