Born in 1992, " Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde/ Centre des arts du cirque et des cultures émergentes", is an independent non profit organization that develops and promotes circus and urban arts (hip-hop, freerunning, graffiti...) in the field of - Youth and Social Circus - International exchanges - Street performances, partnerships with professional artists - Vocational training for trainers.
Located in the southern suburbs of Paris (Bagneux, 92), in the heart of disadvantaged neighbourhoods, Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde (PPCM) is a Centre for circus arts and emerging cultures with educational and social purposes: support for young emerging artists, weekly classes, workshops, summer camps in partnership with social structures, outreach activities in schools, leisure centres, youth centres, medical and educational institutions, socio-cultural centres, prisons ...
PPCM is a founding member of CARAVAN (European Youth and Social Circus Network) and member of Trans Europe Halles, Circostrada and FACE, developing international partnerships in the fields of arts and education, such as artistic residences, training for trainers, seminars, research programmes, or youth exchanges. The hosting and sending of volunteers (EVS) are at the heart of our European practice.
PPCM develops :
- Social activities (Live in a territory): Foster social cohesion and give access to artistic practices to everyone/ Develop social circus awareness/ Promote social circus values and inclusive methods
- Pedagogical activities (Pass on and go with): Develop amateur practices in the field of circus arts and urban cultures / Guarantee the transmission of knowledge over the organization of training for trainers in acrobatic arts and in social circus – in France and abroad
- Artistic activities (Experiment and research): Develop daring artistic projects (intercultural, transdisciplinary and innovative) / Support artists and networks defending an alternative and open model culture (Caravan, FACE - Fresh Arts Coalition Europe, Circostrada, Trans Europe Halles…)
Settled in new spaces of about 2000m² made by the architects Patrick Bouchain and Loïc Julienne, Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde develops an ethical, public-spirited, united, cosmopolitan and undisciplinary project -
