Phare Ponleu Selpak

Phare Ponleu Selpak (PPS), The Brightness of the Arts in Khmer, is a Cambodian non-profit arts school located in Battambang, offering support to children, youth and the surrounding communities through artistic, educational and social support programmes. The following programs are part of the school: PERFORMING ARTS: The Performing Arts School offers Circus, Dance, Music and Theatre leisure classes and vocational training. The circus vocational training program is 8 years in length. The students start from as young as age 8. The major skill areas offered are acrobats, various forms of juggling (incl diablo), aerial, slack & tight rope, chinese pole and contortion. VISUAL AND APPLIED ARTS: The Visual and Applied Arts School offers leisure classes in plastic arts as well as vocational training in visual arts, graphic design and animation design. ÉDUCATION: Phare Ponleu Selpak supports education in Cambodia through a Kindergarten, a library, a Child Development Center and complementary classes. Our Education department also strongly collaborates with the governement primary, middle and high schools located on the same campus. CHILD PROTECTION AND SOCIAL SUPPORT: The Child protection and social support department aims for the safety, well-being and blossoming of all the children on campus. It also supports and fulfill the basic needs of the most vulnerable students and their families. COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENT: As a main actor and influencer in the field of Cambodian arts and culture, Phare Ponleu Selpak supports the artists and cultural initiatives in order to renew, preserve and promote the Cambodian arts.
