Mittelfest

Mittelfest is an international live performance festival that, for over thirty years, has brought the best of the Central European and Balkan art scene to Cividale del Friuli. Every year, through theatre, music and dance, it explores current issues with a unique cultural perspective.

Mittelyoung is its under-30 soul: a festival dedicated to young artists and curators, anticipating Mittelfest with performances selected by a jury of peers, giving voice to the new generation of the international performance scene.

Every year, Mittelyoung launches an international Open Call for artists under 30 in theatre, music, dance and circus. Applications are evaluated by a jury of young curators, who select the finalist performances for the festival. This is a unique opportunity for the new generation of talents to perform in an international context and, for some, also to gain access to the Mittelfest programme.
