Melissa Von Vepy develops an aerial research related to theater and dance, conducting a unique exploration of the physical and interior dimensions of gravity.
Constantly nourished by her encounters and collaborations with different artists (authors, composers, directors or choreographers), Mélissa Von Vépy creates an atypical path, her aerial artist technique remaining the raw material of her creations.
Singular by their aerial and theatrical dimension, more widely multidisciplinary, the creations of Happés (English: Caught) bear the artistic metaphor on essential human concerns involving everyone through the perception of its reality and imagination.
In the course of the multiple ranges of the vertical axis, there is that moment where everything is possible, where the human being is at the limit of taking off, hugging the ground, clear of any weight. This fugitive status of floating, between grace and awkward jitters, is stating in what it evokes, a space of inexhaustible research.
In 2018, Melissa will present her 10th creation : Noir M1 / Black M1
Aerial homage to Shakespeare’s Macbeth, to the Theater, its superstitions and mysteries.
Bringing to light those jobs in the shadow, the black box and its singular, suspended density of air, where creation takes place and imagination spreads.
Melissa Von Vépy’s tenth creation, Black M1, reveals all which is supposed to be invisible to the spectator. "M1" is a european classification of reaction and resistance to fire.
