Marie Asplund

Marie Asplund (2002) is a circus artist graduated from Stockholm University of the Arts (former DOCH). Specializing in the aerial fabric she combines dynamic techniques and flexibility, inspired by her bond with the fabric – strong yet fragile.
Marie has performed for several years with Cirkus Cirkör (SW), latest with the show “The Extraordinary history of circus” (2025). She has performed at festivals such as Brocante (Italy) and Hupstate (NY, US) and received a special prize for her performance in the European youth circus festival in Wiesbaden 2024 (GE). In 2026 Marie was chosen as the receiver of Residens x3 from Riksteatern with her first solo project A Forgotten Home, which combines her aerial practice with her patient handicraft work. Marie has also been a competitive synchronized skater winning national titles with her team already at 12 years old.
