As a child I trained Vaganova (Russian) ballet 35-40 hours per week for years, and have since brought that same drive and attention to detail to each and every discipline I pursue. I love circus because it allows me to constantly be absorbing new technique and inspiration - every apparatus only strengthens the others. My passion truly lies in becoming the best performer I can be, and that means always bolstering my repertoire. However, inspiration comes not only from the training; I adore being surrounded by like-minded creatives, constantly dedicated to the journey, the joy, and the art this circus world brings . . . I can’t wait to be inspired with you!
Artist Bio:
After a lifetime of love for performance art Mari received her first company ballet contract at age 17. This led her to dance corps, demi-soloist, and soloist roles in numerous classical and contemporary ballets under directors from Canyon Concert Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Denver Ballet Theatre, and more. A few years into her ballet career Mari decided to broaden her artistry through circus, and attended a year-long acrobatic intensive. Mari has since featured the results of her meticulous training through commercial-style performances in music video productions & ads for Google, setting award winning choreography for both performance troupes & the dance competition circuit, posing for & staging fine art photography across the country (published by NYT best selling authors & hung in galas around the world, including the Lincoln Center in NYC); and living as her truest self under the lights on stage as an acrobat, aerialist, & dancer of many disciplines. Mari feels truly grateful to have performed with numerous circus companies of differing styles, garnering experience in contemporary, traditional, and burlesque circus scenes. As a recent Las Vegas transplant she looks forward to sparkling on new stages and tackling new adventures.
