Magali Sizorn is lecturer (Mcf) at the University of Rouen since 2008. She teaches at the UFR Staps and is co-responsible for a Master's degree in Cultural Project Management at the UFR Lettres et sciences humaines.
Her research is characterized by sociological and anthropological surveys on artistic activities (the circus, in particular). Articulating a comprehensive sociology with a pragmatic sociology, she is particularly interested in the analysis of artification processes. She also works on cultural practices, developing a sociology of attachments, observing the ways of practicing as well as the values at work in the construction, transmission and actualization of taste. She has published in 2013 Trapézistes.Ethnosociologie d'un cirque en mouvement (http://www.pur-editions.fr/detail.php?idOuv=3174). She has also contributed to the Anthologies of Circus Arts, by the CNAC and the Bibliothèque nationale de France (http://cirque-cnac.bnf.fr/). Finally, she is a member of the Collectif de chercheur.e.s sur le cirque, that she has been co-leading with other researchers for several years. She is a member of the association's board of directors.
