Kiebpoli [KAY-PO-LEE] Calnek is a non-binary writer, performer, director, and Founder - Artistic Director of Black*Acrobat - a social enterprise empowering fringe communities with devised theatrical performances and through the vertical world of aerial acrobatics. Shows tackle provocative dark subjects and re-imagine stories of the black diaspora.
Their works received generous funding and support from Elizabeth Streb, Astraea Foundation, Asian Arts Initiative, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. They are a graduate of CCNY, a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab, SAG-AFTRA, and Actors’ Equity Association.
When not traveling for aerial consultations and residencies worldwide, Kiebpoli is currently in NYC, coaching a weekly aerial rope class at The Muse Brooklyn open to all genders and abilities.
