tunisian-born dancer and choreographer Mohamed Oussema Khlifi develops a movement language that bridges contemporary and urban forms with strong theatrical and emotional presence. A versatile performer, he has collaborated with major choreographers and companies across Tunisia and Europe, building a solid international stage experience.
He is a member of Sybel Ballet Théâtre, performing in acclaimed works such as May B by Maguy Marin, The Roots by Kader Attou, as well as Frontière, Frontières de l’invisible and Hiwar by Syhem Belkhodja. He also danced in Carmen by Abou Lagraa, and collaborated with Kais Harbaoui on Dear Son during a residency with Cie La Baraka at La Chapelle.
His performance journey includes appearances at major festivals and venues such as Chaillot – Théâtre National de la Danse (Paris), Festival Premières Chorégraphiques, International Dance Day (Tunis), Journées Chorégraphiques de Carthage, Djerba Dance Days, and the Italian festival Corrispondenze with Debora Renzi’s piece Arche. He has also performed in works by Oumaima Manai (Right Now, Tawa), Hazem Chebbi (Tassawef), Omar Rajah (Didon et Énée), and participated in Fasel with Emio Greco / ICK Dans Amsterdam.
Alongside his performance career, Oussema develops his own choreographic research. His solo Obsession blends dance and photography to explore identity, memory, and the emotional states of the body. His artistic interests revolve around dramaturgy, physical states, and the transformation of intimate experience into movement.
He has trained with influential pedagogues and choreographers, including Martha Graham 2 Company under Rafael Molina, Kader Attou and Cie Accrorap as part of the Massari project, and through numerous workshops and residencies in France, Italy, and Tunisia. These experiences have shaped his distinctive artistic identity rooted in sensitivity, experimentation, and cross-disciplinary curiosity.
Today, he continues to expand his work as both performer and creator, affirming himself as an emerging and innovative voice in the international dance landscape.
