Kaiya Thomas

I am a multi-skilled circus artist based within the UK, with more than 14 years experience. Including completed Circomedias BA with first class honours (5 years of circus education in total).

AERIAL:
I mainly specialise in aerial Silks/Rope, Loops/straps, Hoop/Lyra, Multi Rope but also have a strong knowledge and experience on other aerial apparatus.

I don’t just perform doing solo aerial skills but also have experience performing doubles aerial hoop, loops/straps and rope/silks.

GROUND: 
My ground skills consist of Movement/dance, Physical Theatre/ Character Performance, Lollipop, Pixel whip, Hula Hoop and Poi.

OTHER CIRCUS RELATED SKILLS:      
As well as performing, I also have experience in creating Choreography, creative directing and assistant rigger. I have many years experience with teaching circus skills to a range of age groups. I have worked with companies such as Citrus Arts, Up Side Down Circus, Circomedia, DanceBlast and NoFitState as a circus tutor and assistant. Teaching a range of aerial and ground based skills over the last few years.

OTHER SKILLS/NOT CIRCUS RELATED: 
Outside of circus, I have trained figure skating/ice Skating for many years. I also have experience with online marking and Digital Art.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE/PAST WORK: 
I have previously had experience working with multiple companies at a range of different events, such as performing at private high end corporate events, private parties, cabarets, contemporary shows and festivals including Camp bestival, blue lagoon festival, devises street festival, Big Splash Festival in Newport, Big Love Festival in Usk, Bute town carnival, ‘out in a limb’ with Wired Circus Company on a UK tour, ‘Dis-Connected’ around Bristol venues as my own solo produced circus and projection mapped show, ‘circus mundi’ with NoFitState at the Welsh Millennium Centre and The Courtyard Theatre in Hereford.
