Jonathan is a Singaporean Circus Artist, he found his love for the circus when he was 11 years old.
Skilled in multiple circus disciplines, he strives to create works that reflect his identity and the culture of Singapore.
Through the years, Jonathan has been invited to multiple festivals around the world, he was also the first Singaporean to showcase his street show, 'The Planks and Ladders' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, known as the biggest fringe festival worldwide.
He is also one-half of The Annoying Brothers, which was featured in Asia's Got Talent Season 2.
Jonathan is also heavily involved in the busking and circus arts community of Singapore. He is part of the Social Circus, Bornfire, where he underwent a 5-year Mentorship Programme in 2011.
During the mentorship, he was involved in the choreography and performances of various events and productions such as Chingay Parade, Esplanade Flipside, and many others. He was also involved in the planning and organising of the annual circus festival (Bornfire Festival). He is part of the Bornfire Community Circus committee that help to run the weekly interest group session and sharing. Through this mentorship, Jonathan has collaborated with multiple arts collectives in Singapore, such as Orkestar Trio, SA, Nadi Singapura, scRach Marc and many others.
In 2019, Jonathan founded The Buskers' Association of Singapore, he started this Non-Profit Organisation with the aim of supporting and improving the capabilities of buskers in Singapore and with the vision of making busking one of the main street cultures found in Singapore.
During the Covid Restriction period in Singapore, Jonathan was heavily involved in 'Buskers' Lab' an initiative started by the Buskers' Association (SG) supported by the National Arts Council. The Busker's Lab was an initiative created to push buskers to explore the boundaries & test the limit on how a street performance can be presented in Singapore.
Jonathan is currently based in London pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Circus Arts at the National Centre for Circus Arts (National Circus).
