After falling in love with the artistic and expressive world of circus when Iona joined a youth circus company in West London, she went on to dedicate the last 15 years to honing her circus skills, creative process, dramaturgy and performance.
She studied for 5 years at Circomedia, where she expanded her abilities, specializing in Hula Hoop, Theater and Devising, obtaining a First Class BA. Here she branched into different stylistic forms including; Belrleques, Grouseque, narrative theatre and her favourites sketch comedy and immersive work. It was at Cricomedia that she was able to hone in her passion and skills within directing and dramaturgy within circus.
Ionas other circus skills include stilts, partner walking globe and aerial. she
but I have background in other disciplines including acrobatics, aerial, stilts and walking globe. I performs in both indoor and outdoor settings, particularly enjoying immersive work. I relishes the opportunity to devise and direct my own work as well as perform within larger ensemble productions. I have also been teaching Circus and Theatre skills at both festivals and private events for many years.
