Circus artist - Performer - Choreographer with over 20 years of experience.
Originally trained in various circus techniques, Ghislain develop his skills in a contemporary setting while studying at the National Center of Circus Art in France where he started developing a passion for other art forms such as dance, acting, show conception and more.
Along his professional journey and while working with some of the most respected dance companies in Europe, he discovered and developed other skills such as photography, videography, editing, and more.
Learning and practicing these techniques gave him the tools to understand how to connect them and work with many different artists from which he continues to learn new techniques and perspectives.
Ghislain’s talent resides in his versatility and understanding of the various techniques he studied and practiced.
BIOGRAPHY:
Formation
Born in 1979, Ghislain joins Annie Fratellini’s Circus School in 1994 where he learned the basic foundations of traditional circus techniques specializing in floor acrobatics.
Between 1997 and 1999, he continues his formation with the E.N.C.R. (National Circus School of Rosny) where he obtains the B.A.T.C. (Artistic Patent in the Techniques of Circus).
From 2000 to 2002, he joins the C.N.A.C. (National Circus Arts Center). During this formation, he specialized in Russian swings, ground acrobatics, as well as trampoline, hand-to-hand, Banquine, theater and dance as complementary techniques. In the course of these formations, he familiarized himself with other techniques such as juggling, wire, monocycle, stilts, hand balancing... which since 1994, enabled him to carry out many street animations, performances and cabarets.
Professional Work
From September 2001 to July 2003 he works with the D.C.A Company for the creation of “CYRK 13” directed by Philippe Decouflé, with whom he developed a dance approach through acrobatics.
From October 2003 to December 2005 he worked with the company “Les Ballets C de la B" on the show "Bache” by Koen Augustijnen, where he continued to develop his technique by assimilating dance with acrobatics.
Since September 2005, Ghislain has been performing as a dancer, acrobat and character in the Beatles "LOVE” by Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. Directed by Dominic Champagne.
Ghislain also worked as choreographer for Cirque du Soleil on The Beatles "Love" show, "Life is beautiful" festival, and has director for multiple video projects and documentaries produced by Wättssoul.
Volunteer Work
Conjointly, Ghislain also invested his time and skills within many organizations. In May 2002, Ghislain joined an expedition in Sarajevo with the “Clown without borders“ organization. In November 2004, he took part in an exchange with Palestinian dancers in Ramallah on the request of Alain Platel. He later on offered his services for the “One Drop” organization as acrobatic choreographer and Performer for the 2014 and 2015 Cirque du Soleil “One Night for One Drop” performance directed by Mukhtar Omar Sharif Mukhtar.
