About Us
The Flying Gravity Circus youth performance troupes perform in theaters and schools across New England and beyond, and they offer workshops to help communities build their own youth circus programs. Troupers also participate in local parades, festivals, special events, and Old Home Days celebrations.
From its home base in Wilton, NH, FGC runs beginner to intermediate circus classes for children, teens, and adults. FGC also reaches out to the community through Circus After School Programs (CASPs) at local elementary schools, as well as classes for homeschool families. Our Silver Lining Circus Camp provides healthy summer fun for kids in the Souhegan/Monadnock regions.
Mission
The Flying Gravity Circus provides circus arts education for children and teenagers, with programs ranging from recreational to pre-professional.
We promote artistic expression, physical fitness, and positive youth development by teaching circus skills and creating opportunities to participate in a range of circus performances––from casual community events to captivating theatrical productions.
FGC seeks to contribute to cultural life while raising awareness of the many benefits of youth circus. We strive to ignite in each participant a joy for learning, performing, and teaching the circus arts!
History
The Flying Gravity Circus was founded in 1999 by Jackie Davis, a circus educator, mime artist, and “circademic” scholar. Jackie believes circus is for everyone, and “you are entirely perfect for learning circus!"
FGC was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2016 under the leadership of current artistic director and head coach Jonathon Roitman, who was himself a founding member of the original youth troupe.
