Emma Serjeant is an independent circus producer and an award-winning circus maker with a distinctive style. Recipient of 13 awards globally for her performance and direction including a Green Room award for innovation in circus and recipient of ‘best circus & physical theatre award’ in Adelaide(Australia), Sydney(Australia) Avignon(France) and Brighton(UK) . Gaining a solid foundation in circus skill and technique as a graduate of the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA), under renowned trainer Guang Rong Lu, Emma then joined C!RCA where she spent three years devising and performing. She spent an additional year as Head Trainer and Youth Circus Director. Emma co-founded Casus Circus late 2011, quickly becoming an international powerhouse with their hit show ‘Knee Deep’, where she was Executive Director for 4 years driving the growth and vision of the company. In 2016 Emma created EmmaSerjeantPerformance - ‘Amazing Humans!’ A production house for contemporary circus and hybrid performance, embracing work that is physically amazing, challenging and thought provoking presenting works in China, Scotland, Australia, Germany, USA and UK. 2018 closed the final chapter of Emma’s performative career and she is now solely focusing on her role as Producer. Realising incredible projects, connecting people globally and being faced with almighty challenges is exactly where she loves to be. Her recent collaborations and creations have been with Circus Oz (Australia), Les 7 Doigts (Canada), NICA (Australia), battleROYAL (Germany), Elements Collective (Australia), Winifred Haun & Dancers (USA) and Aloft Circus Arts Chicago (USA), Oliveira&Bachtler (Portugal) and Dummies Corp.
