My name is Emilia and I perform with flow props such as hula hoops, poi and fire.
I started teaching myself how to hoop about 4 years ago now, I was at my little sisters birthday party and I picked up one of the little hula hoops the kids had left on the grass. Found myself looking at tutorials on YouTube all day and i went and bought my first ever professional hoop not long after.
Over the years of getting better at my hooping skills I started to open up to new flow toys such a poi and fans. Recently I've found myself buying more and more fire props to as there's just something about the rush of setting your props on fire and then spinning!
The main thing I love about performing is feeling like your in an absolout trance. Nothing matters but you, your stage and your flow toy, and the outcome is always something visually magical.
I do not have much experience in performing yet, so as 2019 begins, i want to start taking bigger leaps towards what i want to do for the rest of my life. I hope to share my visual arts and flow with more of the world and hopefully learn some new things and meet fellow performers along the way.
