Elke is an Australian raised and Berlin based Circus Artist.
Hailing from the coast of South-West Australia, I was immersed in nature from an early age, and have carried my affinity for the outdoors into my work and life on tour.
I have always been heavily influenced by The Arts. Music, dance, theatre, the written word...
I tried it all, but flourished onstage. It was where I belonged, where I felt I had the opportunity to initiate change, to make people feel something.
I knew I wanted to be a circus performer from an early age, first as an entertainer, and later as an artist. I dreamed to make a living from my passion, and to further understand the place of art and entertainment in the world.
I specialize in Dance trapeze and Cyr Wheel, with a 10 year background in dance, including experience in solo and group acrobatics. I was also lucky enough to be tutored in the Discipline of Aerial Tube by Swiss artist, Nick Beyeler.
I graduated from The National Institute of Arts (NICA) in 2015, and spent the majority of my childhood learning from circus artists from all over the world at the West Australian Circus Festival, run by Matt Yates - the clown who fostered my love of circus.
I have since worked with some of the leading contemporary circus and entertainment companies within Australia and internationally. (Palazzo, La Clique, Strut n Fret and Circus Oz, to name a few) .
